I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

What do you do when a plumbing emergency arises? The very first thing is to ensure it's safe, and hopefully not getting even worse. Electricity and water do not combine safely, so if you need to, turn the mains switch off at the power panel.

While you wait for our emergency plumber to arrive, remove any important items, mop up any water, and put a container to catch drips. You also should turn off the hot water heating if the main water is turned off.
